MONO

 I started feeling sick after St. Patricks Day weekend. I thought it was just the usual Head cold, cough, sore throat but it kept getting worse. I decided to go to the doctor when we took some pictures of my throat and it looked like a bad case of TONSILLITIS. (I would post them but they're pretty nasty) The doctor took a look and said, " You might win the throat of the week". That's not a good thing to win... I got my blood taken (I'm terrified of needles) The test results came back and I found out that I have MONO. Its kind of a bummer but it makes sense why I have been so tired lately. I just have to let it run it's coarse. I'm on antibiotics and I've got my creamies, soup, yogurt and pudding. I can't wait to have real food! Hopefully it gets better sooner than later. I have a lot of time on my hands. Eric is taking good care of me. I'm lucky to have a husband like him. 

Happy St Patricks Day!

We had a great St Patricks Day weekend! We stayed at Little America, went to the pool, watched some March Madness, got room service, had there amazing breakfast buffet, went to the Irish Festival at Gateway, Flew Kites at the park, ate at "The Pie" and went to the Jazz Game! 

Happy Valentines Day!

We had a wonderful Valentines Day! To start off, we had heart shaped pancakes and pink milk. Eric gave me a cute valentines day card that he made himself. Homemade gifts are always the best kind. Then we headed off to work and I "Heart Attacked" his car while he was teaching. We met up for lunch at Zupas and he surprised me with beautiful flowers and chocolates! What girl doesn't want that? We are both good at being sneaky and surprising each other. Later that night we went the Lady Antebellum concert and had a great time. It was the best Valentines Day!                                   

Honeymoon!

We spent our honeymoon in SLC. It was nice to get away and have a break from all the wedding craziness. We were so excited to spend time with just the two of us. We stayed at the Anniversary Inn in the Tree House room the first night and Little America the second night. We had an amazing dinner at the Roof, walked around gateway, went to the pool and got a lot of room service. It was a perfect combination of fun and romantic. We came back and had fun opening all of our gifts. We are getting settled in our apartment and we are loving our new home! 

           

We're Married!!!

The Wedding
We made it! January 26th finally came and it was a beautiful day! The weather couldn't have been more perfect. It was suppose to rain and snow but the sky was full of clouds and not a drop or flake. Eric went with his mom to the temple and I went with mine. We pulled up at the same time and walked in together. I was so excited to marry the love of my life! The ceremony was beautiful and we can't wait to go back again again. When the sealer pronounced us husband and wife, then called me "Sister Jemison" It took me by surprise and we all started to laugh. I'm excited to be Mrs Jemison and be sealed for time and all eternity to Mr Eric Jemison. I'm a lucky girl! We had so much support from family and friends. It was neat to have so many loved ones there on our special day. After we took pictures, we headed to Bella Vista for the luncheon. It was delicious food and great company! Thanks again to all who helped make it a wonderful day for us!

The Reception
I would say, our reception was the best one we have ever been to! Haha ;) Even though we didn't get to soak it all in, we love how everything turned out. We spent most of the time standing in line but we did cut the cake and danced a couple slow songs too. The decor was beautiful and the refreshments were great. We had Crepes, Fresh strawberries, A Hot Chocolate and Candy bar. Both of us were smiling ear to ear all night. So much that our cheeks were sore. The most important thing was the person standing next to me. We are so happy to be married and start our new life together!

Its about time!

We know, we know! It has been too long since the last post. I guess its true what they say about being engaged. Things have been so busy! Especially with the holidays AND planning a wedding. We have so much to tell, here is the quick version!

We had Christmas at the Yearsleys with Megan's family. Other than Eric getting the flu for 5                        days, it was fun hanging out in our p.j's all day. 

                Both of our parents were so generous and gave us great gifts for our new place! 

We found a cute  townhouse in American Fork. It is a cozy little place and perfect for 2 people. Our favorite part is probably the red front door. It has been fun to move things in and we are excited to start our new chapter of life together. 

Eric got a new job! He is teaching Anatomy and First Aid at Utah College of Massage Therapy in Lindon. It has been such a blessing! Bonus- We get free massages! 

Gingerbread Extravaganza!

We decided to make a gingerbread house... from scratch. We got all the ingredients at Macey's, then headed back to start baking. While the gingerbread was cooling we watched a Christmas movie and made a popcorn chain for the tree. We cut out the shapes we wanted and put them in the oven. To our surprise they turned out just right, and tasted delicious! We might just have to make this a tradition. We had fun putting the house together and decorating cookies while listening to Christmas music. It was such a fun way to start the Christmas season! As you can tell, we love this time of year.

The Journey North

 

Last week Megan and I were able to go up to Montana for a wonderful Thanksgiving's break:

We headed out early Tuesday morning for the eight hour drive north. This would be Megan's first time to the treasure state and I was so excited to have her come up, and even more so that she was coming as my fiance.

As we left Utah we called the Mt. Timpanogos temple and set our Wedding date as the 26th of January 2012. Huzzah!

The roads couldn't have been much better. We made great time and it was so wonderful having her with me. We took the Pintlar scenic loop past Georgetown Lake and even stopped at the Sweet Palace in the booming metropolis of Philipsburg.

We even stopped out at the Drummond cemetery and stopped at my dad's grave site.

We had such a blast in Missoula those few days. I was able to show her around town and some of my favorite places including my all time favorite place to eat when I visit home...Staggering Ox. We got ourselves some U of M hoodies and sweats and from that moment on blended right in with the Missoula crowd. 

I love how friendly Missoula is. It is so great to be able to look forward to going home and to visit with friends and family. We were even able to meet up with one of my closest friends Jeremy, and his wife, for dinner one evening.

Thanksgiving dinner was so great. We headed up to my aunt's house and was able to introduce Megan to the rest of my family on my mom's side. She survived :) It is always a great sign when someone can survive the uniqueness of the Brester blood's. I loving being home for thanksgiving and love my family, immediate and extended and was so glad Megan could share this time with me. It is so crazy to see how we have all grown over the years. 

Friday night, Megan and I were able to go up to Quinn's hot springs with the folks. Before we stopped at Quinn's we went to Plains, Mt. and looked at the Christmas lights in the fairgrounds. That was a lot of fun and then we headed to the hot springs. It was so nice just to relax. They had a few pools of different temperature and I even was crazy enough to jump in the cold water, Megan was wiser.

On our last day, we went in on the Great Christmas Tree Hunt. We got bundled up and with Christina and Chris along as well, we headed out past Lolo to find our perfect tree. Once we saw it Megan and I ran through the snow to stake our claim. I cleared away a few of the branches but once that was complete I gave Megan the honors of cutting it down. It was fun to watch her cut down her first, as well as OUR first, tree. We named him George and tied him to the top of my Expedition. 

 

Mission Accomplished

It was such a wonderful week away from stresses, worries, and cares. It was so great to be with her everyday. It was so weird getting back and using a phone to talk. I love her so much and am so excited for our winter wedding at the end of January. There is still much to do but it was a perfect week and a great trip to look back on as we continue to move forward.
